Oaklink Experiences Sdn. Bhd. ("OakLink Events", "we", "us") operates the website oaklink.my. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We process personal data in line with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia.

1. Data we collect

We collect information you give us directly, and a small amount of technical data generated when you browse the site.

• Enquiry details — your name, email address, phone number, the type of event you are planning and anything you write in your brief.
• Correspondence — emails, call notes and meeting records created while we work on your enquiry or project.
• Technical data — IP address, browser type, pages visited and referring pages, collected through cookies described in our Cookie Policy.

2. Why we use it

We use personal data to respond to enquiries, prepare proposals and budgets, deliver contracted event services, invoice and keep accounting records, and improve the content of this website. Where we rely on consent — for example, optional analytics cookies — you may withdraw it at any time.

3. Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with: service providers who help us run the business (such as hosting and email providers), venues and vendors where necessary to deliver your event, and authorities where the law requires disclosure. Any provider handling data on our behalf is bound by contract to protect it.

4. Retention

Enquiry records are kept for up to 24 months from our last contact. Project and accounting records are kept for 7 years to satisfy Malaysian tax and audit obligations, after which they are securely deleted.

5. Security

Access to personal data is limited to staff who need it, protected by unique credentials, and transmitted over encrypted connections. No method of storage is completely secure, but we review our safeguards regularly.

6. Your rights

7. Children

This website is intended for adults arranging events. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has submitted data to us, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The date at the top of the page shows the current version; material changes will be highlighted on this page for 30 days.
